Day 30

Day 30 dolls, wooden, russian, Matryoshka photography/dolls
I have this wonderful set of Matryoshka dolls from Russia that I thought would be a good subject to take pictures of. Placing them one beside the other or fading off to the distance all seemed so cliché so I tried to do something different.. so I went for abstracts. I hope you enjoy them.

Wow, I thought they were some kind of ornate bowl of some sort. Lovely idea to do something so different with them. They are not dolls anymore! Love the warmth of the lighting and colours, and the way the swirls on your background match are very effective too. Well done.

Wow, I didn't even see it after reading your description. Only after reading the comments, did I see what you actually did...stupendous as usual. You do have a talent.

At first glance, I thought that they were the sugar and dough pastry we call "pets de soeurs". I never would have guessed but the photos are a treat for the eyes.

I love this, a very different take on what you say can be a bit of a cliched subject. Love the depth of field combined with the patterns...

That is a wonderful way to arrange them. I was totally puzzled as to what they were on the challenge thread. I like how the top two shots, at first glance, look to be the same but split in half.

Oh boy, I was ready to reach in there and grab them. I thought they were some kind of biscuits, you know like the kind they use for ice cream cones. I love those. Good thing I read the description. Very interesting take on the subject.

Beautiful. They look like rolls of ancient parchment.
